That products from Schwaebisch Gmuend can successfully compete internationally – the company rich in tradition has proved this again. Umicore Galvanotechnik concluded the financial year 2007 with a remarkable annual turnover of 184 million euros. In 2007, Umicore Galvanotechnik further extended its traditionally strong position as an international specialist in the field of precious metal plating. From Schwaebisch Gmuend, products are exported to 60 countries of the world. Products and services of the Schwaebisch Gmuend firm meet the highest demands.

The economic success of the company in Asia can be attributed to many years of being present in all important markets. The extensive service network ensures that international customers can rely on Umicore's high-quality products and its excellent local service in all locations. In 2007, Umicore Galvanotechnik together with the agencies of the respective countries participated in a large number of trade fairs, among others in China, Thailand, Korea, Indonesia, the United Arab Emirates, the USA and in Turkey.

At "Productronica 2007", the world's leading trade fair for electronics production in Munich, Umicore Galvanotechnik GmbH presented itself to 50,000 trade visitors at a large fair stand, together with 1,500 other exhibitors from 35 nations.

The highly qualified specialists (technicians, engineers and chemists) from Schwaebisch Gmuend are constantly on the way around the globe to market their know-how package of chemical products, advice and world-wide service. A task which demands quite a lot from the highly motivated staff. During the last year, members of staff again travelled around the world umpteen times by car, train or plane. In parallel, every week visitors from all over the world are guests in the modern factory in Schwaebisch Gmuend. President Thomas Engert: "We come from Schwaebisch Gmuend, but we feel at home in the world". In order to stay successful it is essential to know all markets in the world and to be correspondingly present.
