Each product has a surface!

Introduction to electroplating by experienced platers

During a two-day seminar, students of the faculty of materials sciences and surface technology of Aalen University of Applied Sciences could see electroplating through the glasses of experienced platers.

In co-operation with Umicore Galvanotechnik Schwaebisch Gmuend, Aalen University offered students of the faculty of surface technology and materials sciences an introductory course to the world of surfaces. The offer met with great demand and more than 50 students registered for the course. The concept of this course comprised a theoretical part in the form of lectures and a visit to Umicore Galvanotechnik in Schwaebisch Gmuend.

The target of the course was to explain possible tasks of an electroplating engineer in a practice-oriented way and to point out the interdependence of raw materials, pre-treatment, plating chemistry, process parameters and equipment technology.
The pant tour gave the students an idea of a modern, internationally oriented electroplating company and the workplaces there.
